All Terrain Crane Hire

ALL TERRAIN CRANE HIRE SUNSHINE COAST

What is an All-Terrain Crane?

As the name may suggest, this type of crane is ideal for traversing all kinds of terrain, including tricky landscapes of dirt, mud, and more. Mobile cranes, in particular, are suitable for travelling on both public roads and off-road due to their enhanced manoeuvrability and security.

Mobile all-terrain cranes can safely travel at speed on public roads and also have all of the necessary equipment on board for rough terrain. They are also built to typically withstand both hot and cold environments, meaning that this popular crane type is ideal for carrying out construction projects throughout the year.

What is an all-terrain crane used for?

One of the perks of choosing a mobile all-terrain crane is that they are suitable for a broad variety of jobs across the construction sector.

In fact, beyond the construction sector, mobile all-terrain cranes have also found ample use on railway sites and at events! In particular, all-terrain cranes are effective when handled in remote areas or on uneven terrain, due to their sturdiness and easy-to-handle size.

Other common construction jobs where you may think of using a mobile all-terrain crane include lifting materials while on-site, lifting domestic shipping containers, and more. With swift rigging and minimal setup, mobile all-terrain cranes are a versatile and handy piece of equipment that any construction firm should consider renting or buying.

The iconic telescopic boom of the mobile all-terrain crane ensures that this is a type of crane suitable for travel on Australian roads, making it perfect for travelling between sites too.

FAQs

Why should I choose an all terrain crane?

All-terrain cranes combine the features of a rough terrain crane and an all-terrain crane. Their key benefit is manoeuvrability and the ease with which they handle heavy tasks. They can usually lift over 1000 tons, so they are useful on all sorts of construction sites. All-terrain cranes are exceptionally good at handling the Australian landscape, plus they can operate in any climate and extreme weather conditions.

As well as being able to handle even the toughest terrain, all-terrain cranes feature a telescopic boom. This can be retracted, so the cranes can travel safely on the road, making them ideal for multi-site construction.

What is the difference between rough-terrain and all-terrain cranes?

Both of these cranes are used in construction and share a lot of common features. There are several key differences that will help you choose between the types of cranes for hire

All-terrain cranes feature a telescopic boom, and a large number of tyres – up to around 14 on some cranes. They also have a wider cab and taller wheels than most rough terrain cranes. All of these features mean an all-terrain crane is very stable, even on the most rugged landscape.

Another key difference between all-terrain cranes and rough terrain cranes is the fact they can travel at higher speeds on public roads. This makes them exceptionally mobile and easy to move between jobs, so they’re ideal for work across different sites.
